Christopher Jones of Charles River Broadcasting acquires WCRI-FM and WCNX-AM from Charles River Broadcasting.

Christopher Jones, currently president of Charles River Broadcasting has agreed to purchase the assets of radio stations WCRI-FM, licensed to Block Island, RI and WCNX-AM, licensed to HopeValley, RI from Charles River Broadcasting.* 

 

WCRI programs classical music as part of the World Classical Network at 95.9 mHz.  WCNX programs a News/Talk format at 1180 kHz.  Both stations serve the Providence-Warwick-Pawtucket, RI market.

 

_I am thrilled to be able to continue to carry on the classical music tradition and serve Rhode Island with two varieties of programming. I am also excited about the possibility of acquiring the two Cape Cod stations that Charles River now owns along with the World Classical Network,_ said Chris Jones, whose father, the late Ted Jones, founded Charles River Broadcasting.
