Double O Radio Corporation has agreed to purchase the assets of radio station WJES-FM, currently licensed to Saluda, SC, moving into the Columbia, SC metro market, from Breckenridge Broadcasting, LLC, for $4.7 million.*
Breckenridge Broadcasting is headed by Mike Casey who has been in the radio business for 43 years. Double O is headed by Chief Executive Officer, Terry Bond, whose 25 year radio career also included management responsibilities at Citadel and Roberts Radio.
Double O currently operates four radio stations in Panama City, Florida and is aggressively focused on acquisitions in small and medium markets across the country. _WJES-FM is the first of several acquisitions soon to be announced. The station is a very good fit for our future plans in Columbia, South Carolina,_ remarked Bond. This acquisition represents Double O_s second Columbia station.
Casey said, _This is an excellent opportunity for Double O as well as me. This deal gives Double O a two-station combo in the Columbia market and it will give me an opportunity to pursue other areas of interest._
George R. Reed represented the seller in this transaction.
