Four Milwaukee Market Stations Are Sold

PRESS RELEASE

June 26, 2014

Janeville, WI – Bliss Communications, Inc., publisher of The Janesville Gazette and parent company of Racine Broadcasting, LLC and West Bend Broadcasting, Inc. has announced an agreement to sell Milwaukee market radio stations WRJN-AM and WEZY-FM in Racine and WBKV-AM and WBWI-FM in West Bend, Wisconsin, to Magnum Communications, Inc., based in Tomah, Wisconsin.* Sidney H. _Skip_ Bliss, President of Bliss Communications, Inc. and Dave Magnum, President of Magnum Communications, Inc. jointly made the announcement to both staffs today.

Bliss stated, _These stations have been an important part of Bliss Communications for 17 years in Racine and 43 years in West Bend. We have enjoyed our relationship with the communities and all of our terrific employees. However, this sale represented an opportunity for me to pass the ownership of these great radio stations on to another Wisconsin broadcasting family. The staffs of the Racine and West Bend stations have served a large number of listeners and advertisers for many years. We sincerely appreciate the dedication and commitment of this outstanding group of associates._

Magnum said, _With this acquisition, my co-workers and I will program radio signals connecting from Milwaukee to La Crosse. When my late wife, Lynn, and I started from scratch 23 years ago, we wanted to grow across Wisconsin. I_m blessed to work with so many talented and loyal individuals, many of whom have been on board since the early 90_s._

Magnum added, _Reid, my oldest son will be a junior at the School of Business. His brother, Ty, will be joining him at UW-Madison this fall. What has been really cool for me with this growth step is that for the first time they played decision making roles. While they were growing up, they both had an interest in medicine, which I encouraged, but they have gravitated to broadcasting. Bliss Communications sets a wonderful 131 year example. Who knows, maybe Reid, Ty and their kids will build a multigenerational company as Bliss has. It will be a privilege to be the next stewards of these heritage stations._

According to Bliss, WRJN-AM 1400 signed on in 1926, WEZY-FM 92.1 in 1961, WBKV-AM 1470 in 1950 and WBWI-FM 92.5 in 1958.

The transfer of the radio stations must be approved by the Federal Communications Commission before the sale can be finalized. The approval process usually takes 60 to 120 days. Bliss Communications will continue to operate the stations until approval is obtained.

Bob Heymann, Director of the Chicago office of Media Services Group, Inc., was the exclusive broker in this transaction.

When this four station expansion is completed, Magnum will be licensed to operate 16 radio stations, one Class A TV station and two LPTV stations, all in Wisconsin.
