Research Educational Foundation, Inc., the nonprofit owner/operator of Christian rock – formatted KVRK 89.7 FM, Dallas has announced that they have entered into an agreement to sell the station to WAY Media. The station signed on the air in 1999. Dallas will be the largest market for Colorado Springs-based WAY-FM, which was founded in the late 1980’s by Bob and Felice Augsburg.

When our board decided to make a change at the station, we knew that because WAY-FM had long been a leader in Christian music broadcasting, their format would make an excellent addition to the Dallas/Fort Worth market. WAY-FM was founded in 1987 by Bob and Felice Augsburg as a single station in Ft. Myers, FL. WAY-FM and WAY Media Network Services airs on over 100 radio stations in 26 states. Markets served include; Denver, CO; Portland, OR; Nashville, TN and West Palm Beach, FL.
Bill Whitley of the Dallas office of Media Services Group represented the seller as the exclusive broker for this transaction. The purchase price is $2,000,000.*
