Educational Media Foundation (EMF) of Rocklin, CA, has closed on its purchase of WJIW-FM in Greenville, MS. The facility is a C-2, at 650-ft. HAAT. The purchase price for the radio portion of the transaction was $500,000 cash, which includes the 650-ft. tower site.

Seller is Mondy-Burke Broadcasting of Greenville, with principal owner Elijah Mondy, of Helena, Arkansas. Mondy also owns stations in Helena and Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

EMF is a non-profit religious broadcasting corporation that operates over 400 stations nationwide.

Since EMF operates with a waiver of the main studio rule, they did not need to purchase the office/studio building (also owned by Mondy-Burke). These assets were purchased for $150,000 by Sunland Rentals, LLC, An Arkansas real estate rental company. Larry Fuss’s Delta Radio Group occupies most of the studio building space and will remain the sole tenant of the building.

Bill Cate of Media Services Group was the exclusive broker in this transaction.
