BusinessTalkRadio.net, LLC Acquires WBET-AM from KJI Broadcasting, LLC

An application has been filed with the FCC for the transfer of radio station WBET-AM, Boston, MA from KJI Broadcasting, LLC to BusinessTalkRadio.net, Inc.*
Joseph V. Gallagher III is the managing member of KJI. The other member of KJI, Aritaur Communications, Inc. is the licensee of radio station WMVY-FM, Martha_s Vineyard, MA.
The Buyer, BusinessTalkRadio.net, Inc., is headed by Michael L. Metter. BTRN also owns WGCH-AM, Stamford-Norwalk, CT and operates WLIE-AM, Nassau-Suffolk, NY, through an LMA, with an option to buy. In addition, they own the Business TalkRadio Network(_) and Lifestyle TalkRadio Network(_), which operate 24/7 and provide programming to more than 1,100 stations nationwide.
Metter, President and CEO of BusinessTalkRadio.net, Inc., commented on the acquisition: _This is an exceptional market and station and we see great value in what can be developed here,_ he said. _We have a fine staff and format in place and there_s a great opportunity for us to build on that,_ he added. Metter indicated the company would be announcing other acquisitions in the coming weeks.
WBET-AM broadcasts at 1460 khz with 5 kW days and 1kW nights.
Robert J. Maccini acted as the exclusive broker in the transaction.
